Here are a few things you can do to improve your WiFi’s network range.
Select A Good Location:
Wi-Fi signals are blocked by thick metal and concrete, so try picking the router up off the floor and putting it on a table or mounting it on the wall. Picking someplace central to connect your equipment will give you the best overall coverage throughout the house. If you can’t move the equipment to another location, minor changes can have drastic effects.
Twist The Antennas:
You’ve possibly never tried this but orienting your antennas differently can offer dramatic results with minimal effort. You will have to experiment to see what works best.
Change Channels:
You can change the operating channel of the router by getting into it’s admin area by typing the IP address on your laptop. If several people in the neighbourhood are using the same channel you may experience slow internet speeds and lower range due to interference. Try any one of the other availble channels.
Use A Range Extender:
There are plenty of options available in the market for this – get one that’s compatible with your router and set it up to get better range.
