1. Police:
Usually 100. Works with your city code in some cases. For example, Delhi would be 011-100.
2. Fire Brigade:
Usually 101. Works with your city code in some cases.
3. Ambulance:
Usually 102, but also get hold of the number from your nearest hostpital – they have their own emergency numbers.
4. Credit Card:
The helpline of your credit card issuing bank comes in handy if you lose the card and need it blocked. You could also consider saving the card number in some format in your sms drafts.
5. Taxi:
Get the numbers of one of the cab services in your city or that of your local taxi guy.
6. Chemist:
Your local pharmacy probably delivers medicines home and can be the fastest way to get medicines in an emergency.
7. Pizza:
Or any other food outlet you like and need ordered at short notice.
8. Doctor:
Make sure you family doctor’s mobile phone is in your contacts.
9. Airline:
If you’re a frequent flier with a particular airline or two always have their helpdesk or checkin number saved.
10. Home:
Ensure you have your home number stores under ‘HOME’. In cases of emergencies if someone gets hold of your phone they will know how to reach the right people.
